Long Dock Park & River Center
Beacon, NY

This multi-award winning project involved the creation a 12-acre park in Beacon, New York on the Hudson River for The Scenic Hudson Land Trust. The park was originally an industrial riverfront area, and had been covered in detritus from its former use. Today, the park includes extensive new meadows, restored and created wetlands, trails, an environmental learning center, a kayak launch and pavilion, new bulkhead, rain gardens, pervious parking lots, and the renovation of a 5,000 SF barn for an art gallery and community programs. The overall project received a 3-star rating from SITES (Sustainable Sites Initiative) for sustainable design, construction and maintenance of built landscapes.  The Barn and Pavilion  achieved LEED Gold designation.
