Kenneth D. Levien FAIA, President & CEO

Ken is an industry leader in the field of real estate project management and owner’s representation. He provides real estate advisory and executive management oversight on many of the firm’s complex projects. With nearly four decades in project management, construction monitoring, property assessment, architecture and business management, Ken provides invaluable experience and guidance to the firm's clients, projects and employees.

Prior to founding Levien & Company in 1992, Ken spent two years at Jones Lang Wootton as co-director of the firm’s development arm and a decade at Levien, Rich & Co., which specialized in construction monitoring and due diligence for commercial banks, insurance companies, pension funds and investors. He transformed the firm into a market leader with offices throughout the country. He and his partners sold the firm in the late 1980’s.

Ken received his M. Arch. and B.A. in Architecture with Honors from Washington University in St. Louis, where he currently serves on the School of Architecture’s National Advisory Council. He  served a three-year term as Treasurer of the New York City chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), is a Trustee of the New York Building Congress (NYBC) Foundation, and currently serves as Co-Chair of the NYBC Planning, Growth & Sustainability Committee, as well as the Treasurer of the New York Building Congress Foundation. He was awarded Fellowship in the AIA in 2013 (he is the only independent project manager so honored in the United States) and won the Distinguished Alumni Award from his alma mater in the same year.
