Theatre Row - Building for the Arts
New York, NY

Theatre Row is an off-broadway complex located on the South side of 42nd street, between 9th Avenue and Dyer Avenue. Historically located in an area full of peep shows and adult entertainment venues, it was developed by 42nd Street Development Corporation (now Building for the Arts) in 1978 into a series of theatres, studios and office spaces. L&C was retained by BFA to complete a physical assessment of Theatre Row’s existing facilities, which includes six theatres of varying capacities, six rehearsal studios, support spaces, and office space. Following the completion of the masterplan, Theatre Row completed a renovation of the public spaces of its historic building that greatly improves patron circulation, access and experience.
